The identification of Specific Competences for groups of Business, Architecture, Law, Education, Nursing, Physics, Geology, History, Civil Engineering, Mathematics, Medicine and Chemistry was held in the 1st part of the Tuning Latin America (2004 - 2007) and was made ​​following the same methodology used for the development of Generic Competences, we worked closely with national drafts provided by each university, through discussion and reached consensus on a list of specific competences for each subject area. Each working group identified those who consult the specific skills: graduates, academics, employers and students. Again made ​​available to groups on-line format to carry out the consultation and used to query generic skills. The results of the consultation on specific skills were presented at various meetings and finally, in all working groups of the project is reflected in an example of how to teach and assess competence in their subject area.
